PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the communication equipment control method and the communication equipment with low power consumption. SOLUTION: Operation state data as to a main operation unit 10 are stored in a status memory 18 of a sub unit 11 after the operation period to reduce the energy consumption to the utmost and application of a voltage for the main operation unit 10 is switched to OFF to change the communication equipment to the energy saving mode, and after the application of the voltage to the main operation unit 10 is switched ON, to operate the communication equipment for a succeeding operation period, the stored operating status data having been stored are fed from the memory 18 to the main operation unit 10.
