PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power required for a receiver in a standby mode without exerting any adverse influence upon the operation of the receiver by making a power supply voltage for receiver into a clock having a pulse term which can be determined by a frequency and a pulse duty factor. SOLUTION: The power supply voltage to a receiver 3 is made into a clock having the pulse term which can be determined by the frequency and pulse duty factor. The clock-shaped power supply voltage is generated at a unit 1, its output signal 6 is supplied to a switching means 2 and the switching means 2 supplies this signal to a suitable input part 4 of the receiver 3. The receiver 3 instructs it to a state pin 5 whether modulated light (signal light) is inputted or not. The input of modulated light is reported by the state pin 5 and when the modulated light comes, wakeup processing is initialized by equipment on the user side of a bus. Then, the switching means 2 is switched and continuous voltages are supplied to the receiver 3.
