PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light capable of realizing a small outside frame dimension by securely positioning a lamp holder while restraining the thickness of a light guide body as much as possible. SOLUTION: A light guide body 1 is a flat body wherein two protrusions 7 are formed on its light radiating surface sides inside by 2 mm from a widthwise end face. The light guide body 1 is formed from a transparent resin having high light transmittance such as an acrylic resin, polycarbonate or PET. A reflecting plate 8 formed from a white polyester film is formed on the backside of the light guide body 1. A cylindrical light source 2 is used to make light incident on the side face of the light guide body 1 and formed from a lamp such as a cold-cathode tube. A lamp holder 3 is so formed as to surround the periphery of the cylindrical light source 2. A diffusing body 4 is additionally formed on the light emitting surface of the light guide body 1. The diffusing body 4 is structured by superposing and laminating one or more diffusing plates 4a, 4b and a lens sheet 5 as needed. Translucent polycarbonate or the like having high light transmittance is used for the diffusing plates 4a, 4b. A fixing tape 6 sticks both the lamp holder 3 and the reflecting plate 8 together in order to fix the lamp holder 3 catching the light guide body 1 and the reflecting plate 8 so as to prevent it from moving forward and backward. |
