SEPARATOR CONTAINING MACRO-POROUS MATRIX AND POROUS POLYMER, ITS MANUFACTURE, BATTERY INCLUDING IT AND MANUFACTURE OF THE BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new battery equipped with a separator that is improved in mechanical resistance against fracture and is easy to assemble. SOLUTION: This battery is equipped with a separator containing a felt-type macro-porous matrix each fine hole of which has a PVDF(polyvinyliden fluoride)-type microporous polymer. The microporous polymer is entered into the macro-fine-porous matrix by infiltrating a solution containing the microporous polymer into the macro-porous matrix. This manufacturing method of the battery comprises a step to prepare a combined solution containing the polymer, a solvent and an insoluble agent, a step to infiltrate the solution into the macro-fine-porous matrix, a step to form an electrode assembly by abutting the infiltrated macro-fine-porous matrix on two electrodes, and the step to remove the solvent and the insoluble agent by drying the assembly.
