PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reading a two-dimensional code where the codes formed in proper cell sizes according to the uses are made to coexist. SOLUTION: In the case of reading 1st information after specifying the position of a two-dimensional code 52 based on symbols 54A, 54B and 54C for positioning, this reading method specifies a 1st data area Aa and specifies the center position of each data cell in the area taking into consideration of the cell size in the area. Then, the kind (light or dark) of each data cell is decided and decoded to obtain the 1st information. Similarly, in the case of reading 2nd information, a 2nd data area Ab is specified and the center position of each data cell in the area is specified taking into consideration of the cell size in the area. Then, the kind (light or dark) of only the each data cell is decoded and decoded to obtain the 2nd information. Either one of the 1st or/and the 2nd information can, therefore, be also read and the both can also be read. |
