<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data exchanging device hardly causing abandonment of packet and capable of shortening a path retrieval time. SOLUTION: This device is provided with path retrieval processing cards 121-12m that conduct only path retrieval processing in addition to line cards 111-11n connecting to lines. The path retrieval processing cards are connected to a crossbar switch 13 to which the line cards are connected. There are two kinds (uni-cast use and multi-cast use) of the path retrieval processing cards 121-12m. A line card receiving a packet requests path retrieval to a path retrieval processing card. The switch 13 conducts conventional packet exchange by receiving the result of the retrieval.</p> |
