Title vaccine comprises live rubella virus Strain To-336 (ATCC VR 553) subjected to at least 10 passes and a physiologically acceptable carrier the strength of the vaccine being at least 102.0 InD50/ml after dilution in an inoculable form and is prepd by supplementary cultivation of a rubella virus having been subjected to 10 passes in a tissue culture contg live cells of the african monkey (Green Monkey), duck embryo or rabbit at 28-36 degrees C until sufficient attenuation has taken place.
