PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life organic EL(electroluminescence) element. SOLUTION: This method for sealing an organic EL element comprises: a step of forming successively a positive electrode 2 consisting of an ITO film, a negative electrode 4a consisting of an ITO film, an organic EL element 3, and a negative electrode 4b consisting of a metal on a substrate 1 consisting of a thermoplastic transparent resin; a step of putting a sealing cap 5 made of the same material as that of the substrate 1, which is given the shape of a box with one side face open or a doom, on the substrate; and a step of welding the substrate 1 and the sealing cap 5 by ultrasonic welding. |
