PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the temperature of a fluid for a heating medium to high temperatures in a short time, by attaching a conductor to a pump wheel of a pump, incorporating a permanent magnet disposed opposite to the conductor leaving a slight gap between them, and heating the fluid in the pump by means of slip heat generated in the conductor by turning motion of the pump wheel. SOLUTION: A conductor 6 is attached to the back surface of a pump wheel 5 mounted on an end of a drive shaft 2 rotatably supported in a pump body 1 by means of a bearing device 3 and a mechanical seal 4. A permanent magnet support body 7 is mounted on the pump body 1 so as to stand opposite to the conductor 6 leaving a slight gap between them, and a permenet magnet 8 is mounted on the permanent magnet support body 7. When the drive shaft 2 is driven, a fluid flows by an impeller 5-1 and, at the ame time, a magnetic path formed between the conductor 6 and the permanent magnet 8 is sheared to cause slip heat to be generated in the conductor 6. This heat is heat exchanged with the fluid, and the heated fluid is used in a heating circuit for heating a vehicle and the like.
