PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous capacitor electrolyte having superior breakdown voltage and a charge/discharge cycling characteristic, little generation of gas and superior safety, and to provide a capacitor using the electrolyte. SOLUTION: This is a capacitor electrolyte, which consists of an electrolytic solution and phosphoric ester containing electrolytic solvent indicated by the formula separately, and the capacitor using the electrolyte. The R<1> , R<2> and R<3> in the formula may be identical or different. They are an alkyl radical, a non-saturated hydrocarbon radical or an allyl radical, or an alkyl radical of 1 to 4C, a non-saturated hydrocarbon radical of 2 to 4C or an allyl radical of 6 to 12C may be used for the R<1> , R<2> and R<3> of the phosphoric ester indicated in the formula. |
