PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize a multi-channel audio signal from 2-channel stereo input signals. SOLUTION: In the system 10 adopting this method, multi-output signals 31, 32, 41, 42 are generated from 2-channel stereo input signals 11, 12. This means that a 1st pair of the output signals 31, 32 is generated where monaural information is stored in the stereo input signals. The 1st pair of the output signals 31, 32 consist of combinations of filtered signals produced from either of the input channels and a difference between both the input channels 11, 12. In this system, a 2nd pair of output signals 41, 42, where monaural information is not included, are generated. The 2nd pair of the output signals 41, 42 consist of combinations of either of the input channels and inverted filtered signals produced from a difference between both the input channels. Q filters 34, 43, 44 are used to provide various filtered signals. |
