PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To show the existence of a PC to a wideband network for 24 hours while using minimum power by operating a modem with a permanent part in customer station equipment (e.g. a PC) connected to the wideband network. SOLUTION: A wideband network interface 108 is an intelligent modem connected to a PC. The modem operates in two different modes which are a normal mode and a permanent mode. The normal mode takes place only when the PC is on. The permanent mode has its own power supply and has a storage area which receives incoming data and processes a transmission data request between the storage area and the connected wideband network. The storage area is initialized so as to receive all (or a part) of the incoming data. Updation of the all transmission data is received from a designated PC port to guarantee the completeness and the safety of the data. |
