PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability of equipment by comparing a telephone number sent through a line and a telephone number registered by an abbreviated dial and displaying a name stored corresponding to the telephone number registered by the abbreviated dial in the case that the numbers are the same to omit the waste of a storing area. SOLUTION: In the case that a call incomes and call-originating telephone number information is sent through a line 20, a call-originating telephone number and each telephone number registered in an abbreviated dial registering table 4a of a RAM:4 are compared one by one to retrieve a coincident telephone number. In the case that a telephone number equal to the call-originating telephone number is registered in the table 4a, the registering name of the abbreviated dial is displayed on an operation display part 9. A user can easily recognized the name of a call-incoming opposite party and needs not to individually register the name of the opposite party. Since a registered name as the name of the abbreviated dial can be used for displaying the call-originating telephone number as it is, the waste of the storing area is eliminated.
