Rhodanine sensitisers - for polyester based photosensitive compsns

Photosensitive compsn. based on a photosensitive polyester with units: R = CH-CH = C (where R is alkylidene, aralkylidene or heterocycloalkylidene) contains a rhodamine sensitiser contg. a heterocyclic ring substd. by Me or Et and a methinic chain and of formula: (where Z and Z' are atoms which complete an N-contg. 5-6 C base heterocyclic gp.; R, R1 and R2 are lower alkyl; n and p are each 1 or 2). Used in photoresist compsn., the sensitiser imparts improved sensitivity esp. in wavelengths region >500nm. and the i.r. region.
