PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new compound useful e.g. as a hair tonic and a preparation for external use for skin, having excellent hair development-stimulating effects and hair-growing effects. SOLUTION: This derivative is expressed by formula I [out of A and B, one is a 10-20C hydrocarbon and another is a (CH2 )n -NR<2> R<3> (R<2> and R<3> are each H, a lower alkyl or the like); Z is O, OCO or the like; R<4> is a halogen, lower alkyl, lower acyl or the like; R<5> is H, a lower alkyl, lower acyl, lower alkylcarbamoyl or the like; (m) is 0 or 1; (n) is 0-5], for example, [2-(hydroxymethyl) phenyl]-N-octadecylformamide. This derivative is obtained e.g. by reacting a phthalide of formula II with an amine of formula III and reacting the resultant compound with an amine of formula IV (R<6> is H, a lower alkyl, lower acyl or the like) in the presence of an additive such as pyridine in a solvent such as chloroform at a temp. of -15 deg.C to room temperature. |
