Handling sheet stacks using straddle carrier

A method and apparatus for handling sheet stacks, in which method sheet stacks comprising at least one sheet are moved into a storage with the help of handling apparatuses into sheet piles of at least one sheet stack is claimed. By virtue of purpose-designed support beds, a handling apparatus and a straddle carrier a flexible and efficient buffer storage system for sheet stacks is offered suited for interfacing with existing sheet processing lines.
