A program for displaying a text file displays a rectangular blank in a position where a character string encircled by a specific symbol is written. When the user depresses a specific key, clicks the blank with a mouse or points it with the pointer, the original character string is displayed in the blank. By defining a rectangular region with a specific symbol in a text file and entering the name of an image file in the region, the image is displayed in the region when the text is displayed. When the text is printed, the portion where the character string is encircled by the specific symbol is printed as a blank without the character string. |
