A binding system comprises a jacket (1) having a spine (8) with a bed of adhesive (4) extending on either side of the spine. The sheets to be bound are formed into a stack (6) and are fastened adjacent one edge of the stack (7). The edge of the stack is applied to the adhesive bed on the spine and the sides of the jacket are folded to adhere at least a portion of each face of the outer sheet of the stack to the adhesive which extends outwardly from the spine.
