Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a medicament for the treatment of colon cancer chemoprevention or chemotherapy. The pharmaceutical composition comprises an effective amount of a 2-hydroxy-5-phenylazobenzoic acid derivative or an ester of an active metabolite or an oxidation product of an active metabolite thereof, or a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the 2-hydroxy-5-phenylazobenzoic acid derivative or an ester or an active metabolite or an oxidation product of an active metabolite thereof.
