PURPOSE:To improve the traffic characteristic by giving a fixed wavelength to an input packet so as to multiplex wavelength, allowing an output side to select a required packet and applying buffering to the selected packet. CONSTITUTION:A fixed wavelength filter 20 separates a packet into address information (wavelength lambda0) and packet signals (wavelength lambda1-lambdan). A delay line 21 whose length is T is used to send the address information earlier than the packet signals and stored tentatively in a variable wavelength filter control circuit 22 and used for succeeding packet control. On the other hand, a packet signal passes through a port (1) 241 of variable wavelength filters 23-1-23-m in cascade connection and is outputted to a port (2) 242 of the variable wavelength filters 23-1-23-m designated by the variable wavelength filter control circuit 22, a different delay is given to each packet by delay lines 25-1-25-m and each packet is outputted. |
