A process for preparing an article for holding an oxygen sensitive material, which includes blending one or more polymers and an oxygen scavenger and then including the blend in an article, is claimed. The polymer contain a post consumer (recycled) polyethylene terephthalate, which is blended in an amount effective to accelerate actuation of the oxygen scavenger, and the oxygen scavenger is a polyamide or an antioxidant.
