PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push pull control cable to improve load efficiency, and be excellent in sensitivity quality, and be maintenance-free for a long period. SOLUTION: This control cable comprises a conduit having a liner consisting of a pipe made of resin; a core 31; and a siding 33 consisting of a number of steel wires 32 spirally wound around the outer periphery of the core 31 at a given winding pitch angle. A wire 3 fictionally movably inserted in a liner is combined therewith. In a so formed push and pull control cable, the winding pitch angle of the steel wire 32 is set to 13 degree or more and 25 degree or less. When the steel wire 32 is 0.2-0.6 mm in diameter, excellent rigidity is ensured and durability is improved. Further, a galvanized layer with a thickness of 5.0-20μm is applied on the steel wire 32.
