<p>This invention concerns a roll of material, in particular a roll of thermoplastic ribbon to strap packages, this roll of material comprising a hollow core made of a plastic strip of which the ends are mutually joined by overlapping, and the core's outer surface facing the material to be wound being of a nature opposing slippage of the material on it. An economic and recyclable roll of material is created in the invention in that the plastic strip consists of an adhesive-coated foil of which the adhesive-fitted surface forms the outer core surface facing the material. The first winding layer facing the core bonds to this core and as a result the global roll is made mechanically strong and this strength can be enhanced by an adhesive-coated plastic foil tautly enclosing the outside of the roll of material and fitted with a projecting, adhesive free or adhesive-neutralized tear-open tab.</p> |
