PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more reduce error of running azimuth at the time of low speed running. SOLUTION: In the case where a car velocity is comparatively large, a processor 1 performs correction for making the running azimuth coincide with the traveling azimuth, although the absolute value of difference between the running azimuth and the traveling azimuth obtained from a GPS receiver is comparatively small. When the car velocity is comparatively small, the processor 1 performs the above correction only in the case that the absolute value of difference between the running azimuth and the traveling azimuth is comparatively large. When the car velocity is low and precision of the traveling azimuth obtained from the GPS receiver is low, it can be judged whether the running azimuth is mistaken more than or equal to some extent. In the case of mistake to some extent, the running azimuth can be corrected to be the traveling azimuth obtained from the GPS receiver which has smaller error. |
