PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately and easily perform the fine control of information write timing to an object to be irradiated with a beam. SOLUTION: A light beam L1 outputted from a light beam generation source 2 is passed through an optical system 4 and a reflection mirror 6 and turned toward a polygon mirror 8. A scanning light beam L2 reflected on the reflection plane of the polygon mirror 8 is transmitted from a reflection fθlens 10 to an fθlens 12 and made incident on the surface of a photoreceptor drum omitted in the figure later, and the surface of the photoreceptor drum is exposed. A scanning light beam L3 getting out of the range to be scanned with respect to the photoreceptor drum with the rotation of the polygon mirror 8 is turned toward an optical transmitting member 16 by a reflection mirror 14 and made incident on the optical transmitting member 16. The optical transmitting member 16 is supported by a housing so as to be rotated. By rotationally operating this optical transmitting member 16, the incident scanning light beam L3 is refracted, the position of incidence to a photosensor 18 is changed and the fine control of write timing is performed.
