A vehicle door lock consists of a bolt (1), catch (2) and latch (4). The bolt and catch are spring loaded (F1,F2) and provided with a single contact type sensor each (16,17) which indicate their positions. The combinations of yes/no sensor signals provide a truth table to show lock states such as open, first or second bolt notches and abnormal. These states may be displayed either by hard wired switch circuits or by electronic means. |
