摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure braking property, and to improve both squeaking performance and fading resistance by providing a friction material containing pores of cumulative porosity of specified volume % or higher, among these pores, ones having maximum inner diameters of specifiedμm or lower and having cumulative porosity of specified volume % or lower being contained. SOLUTION: A composition is formed by mixing a fiber component such as an alamide fiber or the like, a liquid binder of a phenol resin or the like for easily providing a friction material to be obtained with pores of fixed cumulative porosity, a powder filler such as graphite, and magnesium oxide friction adjusting agents, and after this composition is used as a premolding body to form a molded body, the molding process and a heat treatment are performed and thereby a friction material for a brake is produced. Thus, in the friction material containing pores at cumulative porosity of 8 volume % or higher, among these pores, ones having maximum inner diameter 1μm or lower being contained at cumulative porosity of 5 volume % or lower, braking property is secured, and squeaking performance and fading resistance are both improved at the same time.
