摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adhering and fixing an optical fiber, capable of preventing the changes in the characteristics of the optical fiber due to thermal shrinkage stress of an adhesive and an optical fiber cord. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cord 100 is constituted by exposing the optical fiber 1 at the end a coated optical fiber 15, which is formed by providing the outer periphery of the optical fiber 1 with a buffer layer 2 and providing the outer periphery of this buffer layer 2 with a coating 3 and winding the end on the coating 3 side of the exposed part of the optical fiber 1 with a low- hardness resin 4, then adhering the exposed part and a capillary part 32 of a ferrule 30 with the adhesive 20 and adhering and fixing the ferrule 30 to the end of the coated optical fiber 15. As a result, the thermal shrinkage stress of the adhesive 20 is buffered by the low-hardness resin 4, and therefore, the optical fiber 1 will not affect adversely, and the change in the characteristics of the optical fiber 1, such as mode conversion, can be prevented.
