PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily incorporate a packing on a stuffing box without causing the falling out of an O-ring in such a manner that the O-ring is held in place when incorporating and additional fastening the packing. SOLUTION: A grand packing 4 is formed into a sectionally rectangular string braided structural body to be used in a ring configuration, of which the outer periphery face 4a is provided with an O-ring engaged groove 41 to engage an O-ring 10 therewith. If the grand packing 4 is formed in a sectionally square string interlocking braided structure in the condition that longitudinally extending core strings are arranged on the intersections of string braided passages, the core string arranged except at the angle on at least one peripheral face of the interlocking braided structural body has a smaller diameter than other core strings and the peripheral face corresponding to the smaller-diameter core string is caved-in where the O-ring engaged groove 41 is formed. |
