摘要 <p>Described is a new phase-modulation sensing scheme for a broad range of chemical optical sensing without requirements for lifetime-sensitive sensor dye. The measurement of concentration of an analyte relies on the measurement of phase angle or modulation of fluorescence of mixed fluorophores. The sensing probe consists of two fluorophores, a first fluorophore with the analyte-induced change in intensity and a second fluorophore which intensity does not appear to be sensitive to the analyte. The most important requirement for such sensing probe is that fluorescence lifetimes need to be significantly different. The new phase-modulation sensing scheme allows determination of fractional and total intensity of both dyes in a sample by measurement of the phase angle and modulation.</p>
