The invention relates to a depilatory preparation containing between 1 and 10 weight % of at least one reducing agent and characterized in that it contains between 1 and 25 weight % Mg(OH)2 and between 0 and 10 weight % of another alkalizer of which a 1 weight % solution in distilled water has a pH of at least 10 at 20 DEG C, provided that the pH of the depilatory preparation is 10 or more. No crystallization occurs in this depilatory preparation, even after prolonged storage.
