<p>High level radio-active waste may be immobilised in mineral assemblages which contain little or no rutile. The mineral assemblage comprises crystals belonging to or possessing crystal structures closely related to both the perovskite and zirconolite mineral classes and further comprising crystals belonging to or possessing crystal structures closely related to the calzirtite mineral class wherein the mineral assemblage incorporates high-level radioactive wastes immobilised therein.</p> |
