摘要 The assembly for needle bonding a nonwoven web has a number of needle beams (19). A drive (18) acts on each needle beam (19), or a group of beams which are close together and fitted with only a few rows of needles, to give the needle penetration movements. A control unit is linked to the drives, to operate them independently of each other. At least some of the needle beams (19) have a second drive, to give a reciprocating movement parallel to the web movement direction, matching the needle penetration movements. A third drive system is fitted individually for at least some of the needle beams (19), connected to the beam or the underlay (1), to give a movement across the needle penetration movement of the beam (19), to give a reciprocating movement component matching the needle penetration movement. All the additional drive systems are linked to the control. The underlay (1) for the nonwoven is a roller, and the needle beam movement is at right angles to the roller axis. The underlay roller (1) has a number of ribs round the circumference, separated by peripheral grooves. Or the roller (1) is composed of a number of spaced disks, where at least some are powered and have a toothed (24) circumference in an asymmetric sawtooth structure (24). The powered disks are rotated at a constant transport speed overlaid with a cyclic alternating direction . The needles (21) are in rotating mountings in at least some of the needle boards (20), with a further controlled drive (25) at their needle beams (19) to rotate the needles (21), linked to the control unit to be controlled independently to match the penetration and retraction movements of the needles (21). The needles (21) at one needle board (20) are hook needles, and the needles at the adjacent board are retraction needles. Each needle beam (19) has only a few rows of needles, and preferably 1-3 needle rows. The underlay for the nonwoven web is a number of rollers (1) along the web movement line, each with independently operated needle beams with needle assemblies opposite them. The web moves from one underlay roller to the next, without intermediate rollers between them. Or each roller is powered to rotate in the same direction, and intermediate rollers can be fitted for the web transfer between them. The web retainer is formed by a number of disks (22), with gaps between them for the needles (21). The disks are mounted to a common carrier (7), where the needle beams (19) slide in the stitch movements.
