Recycled plastic components production in aluminum intrusion mold

Plastic melt (3) leaves an extruder (1) for a distribution head (5) just outside it. It passes through a distribution nozzle (8) into the cavity (17) of an intrusion mold of high thermal capacity (11). When a set back-pressure is achieved, injection pressure is applied. Air cooling of the mold takes place after removal from the extruder, in a separate stage. An Independent claim is included for the intrusion mold used. Preferred Features: Molds are filled successively through two distribution nozzles of an assembly flanged onto the extruder outlet (4). The intrusion mold body is substantial and is made of extruded aluminum. It is essentially tubular, with high thermal capacity. Though essentially cylindrical within, external corners give it an outwardly rectangular appearance. A blanking plate is screwed into one end; at the other a clamping plate mates centrally with the extruder nozzle. A crescent-shape projection can be formed-on during its extrusion.
