DOCUMENT READ-ALOUD DEVICE, READ-ALOUD CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM

In reading a document aloud, the necessity of designating attributes for reading aloud in the document in advance is eliminated. A device for analyzing the contents of attributes and reading aloud a text part in a document by using voice synthesizer means, taking notice of utilization of a document having attributes, wherein the attributes are determined regardless of read-aloud conditions. The read-aloud condition for the entire document is set by basic read-aloud condition setting means (3), and the read-aloud condition for each attribute is set by individual read-aloud condition setting means (5). In reading the document aloud, in principle, a text part is read aloud with reference to the basic read-aloud condition set by the basic read-aloud condition setting means, and a text part having the individual read-aloud condition is selectively read by selective reading means (15) with reference to the individual read-aloud condition in preference to the basic read-aloud condition.
