Quadrature coding circuit for a computer mouse

The control of a screen cursor with a mechanical mouse uses a quadrature coding system with an edge triggered digitising circuit (740). The coding system interprets two square wave signals generated by movement of the mouse . The digitising circuit is based around an analogue comparator (930) and a passive time delay (910)circuit.
