The hob has at least one cooking zone (2.1-2.4) with an associated heater, a voltage supply cable (3) and an electronic device (6) with an electronic controller and switch for setting the power of the heater. A mains isolation switch (9) is connected in the voltage supply line to the electronic device and arranged beneath the glass ceramic plate. The mains isolation switch can be remotely controlled or contactlessly switched on and off from outside the glass ceramic plate.
