The control device (1) has a pneumatic conveyor (9), with a supporting and guide device (11), for supporting and guiding the packets (2) and feeding the packets along a given path. Two television cameras (20,22) are positioning to form monitoring sectors (27,28), through an opening (16,18) formed between the supporting and guiding device so that the television cameras view all six sides (3-8) of the packet. The image is compared with a reference image to determine acceptance or rejection of the packet.
