The appts. to impose a profile and especially edge corrugations to sheets or strips, has a clamp (2) to secure the section of the workpiece material (1) which is not being worked. A profiling section (3) imposes a profile on the projecting material extending from the clamp (2), in a sliding movement along the clamped material (1). The profiling section (3) has toothed rollers (4) of polyamide.
