The invention concerns a boiler for a household electrical appliance, comprising a cylindrical body (2) with vertical axis defining a chamber (3) and which has an inlet (4) for introducing water into the chamber (3), electric heating means (6) associated with the body and including a heating element with screen printed electrical resistance for heating the water introduced in the chamber (3), said body (2) including also an outlet (7) for discharging hot water or steam formed in the chamber (3). The invention is characterised in that the heating element with screen printed resistance (13) is made in the shape of a layer extending over part of the body (2) longitudinal wall height, and which is associated with thermal protecting means (12) for interrupting the heating element (13) power supply when the water level in the chamber (3) is below the layer (9) upper end.
