PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set which prevents an illegal use by a third party and eliminates responsibility for charges when the portable telephone set is stolen or lost and does not need registration deletion procedure for the loss of the portable telephone set and the procedure for the loss to a provider. SOLUTION: A controller 4 collates the coincidence of a received password number with a password number that is preliminarily registered on a storage device 6 at the time of receiving a security ON setting code and the information of the password number and sets a security mode at the time of coincidence. Operation keys except a power supply key are set to an unusable state in the security mode and about the loss of a portable telephone set, a message for loss display is shown on a display device 8. The controller collates the coincidence of a received password number with the password number which is preliminarily registered at the time of receiving a security OFF setting code and the information of a password number and releases the security mode at the time of deciding the coincidence. |
