<p>The present invention pertains to the feed-mill industry and more precisely relates to the production of feed for farm animals and poultry from vegetal raw material essentially consisting of peat, sawdust and distiller's grain from the brewing industry. The purpose of this invention is to develop a method which simplifies the techniques for processing the vegetal raw material, and which provides for a continuous process as well as for a regular transfer of homogeneous raw material towards the drying step in order to accelerate the drying process and to reduce the power consumption. This method for preparing animal feed from the above-mentioned vegetal raw material comprises drying said raw material as well as grinding and sorting the same. Before the drying step, the raw material is sorted through a perforated frame having openings of between 5 and 20 mm, and further disintegrated using rotating vanes which are arranged gradually so as to be close to the inner walls of a vessel. The vanes are oriented at an angle of between 10 and 15° relative to the horizontal, wherein each upper edge of a lower vane is located at a distance of between 5 and 10 mm above the lower edge of an upper vane.</p> |
