The present invention relates to a method and a plant for favourably increasing the processing temperature of a paper machine relative to previously known techniques and for providing precise regulation of the temperature of the paper machine process, where an evaporator is used in the process. The energy usage in the paper machine is clearly made effective by the process, in particular in a paper machines using wood product. Furthermore the method enables the quantity of fresh water required for the paper machine and of the waste water to be discharged to be reduced. Because of the processing temperature reached by the method the wood product washing efficiency of the method rises according to earlier patent applications for paper machines processing wood product.
