PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ceramic at a low cost, which contains, as main components of the crystal structure, calcium silicate and lithium alumino silicate and which is free from irregular color of the sintered body. SOLUTION: The ceramic is produced by first mixing one or more of synthetic calcium silicate hydrates selected from amorphous calcium silicate hydrates and crystalline calcium silicate hydrates with lithium aluminosilicate to obtain a raw material composition which has an Fe content of <=0.3 wt.% expressed in terms of Fe2 O3 and then sintering the composition at a temp. of 900-1,400 deg.C. |
