PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the buckling of a secondary conductor for safe operation by controlling the operation of an elevator based on the temperature of the secondary conductor meeting thermal expansion. SOLUTION: This linear motor driving elevator, which hangs a car 8 and a counterweight 1 in bucket style through a sheave and a hanging rope 3 within a hoistway 5, and which the counterweight 1 involves the primary conductor of a cylindrical linear motor 2, and a secondary conductor 6 of the linear motor vertically-fitted so as to pass through the primary conductor, and lifts up and down the car and the counterweight through the hanging rope 3 relatively by thrust generated between the primary and secondary conductors when the primary conductor is energized, is provided with a temperature detector 21 detecting the temperature of the secondary conductor 6 which rises with heat generation between the primary conductor and secondary conductor 6, and a control panel 31 controlling lifting-up and -down of the car and the counterweight based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector. |
