PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-stage deployment control device for an air bag capable of determining the ignition timing of an auxiliary inflator according to the mode of a collision. SOLUTION: When a collision occurs, a G sensor 1 outputs a signal G. The signal G is removed with a high-frequency component by an LPF 2 and integrated by an integrator 3. A comparator 4 compares the integrated signal (b) with a threshold value 5 and outputs an H-level signal (c) to operate a main inflator 6 if the signal (b) becomes the threshold value V0 or above. The output (b) of the integrator 3 is sent to an auxiliary inflator controller 7 concurrently with this action. The auxiliary inflator controller 7 detects the first maximum value of the output (b) of the integrator 3 and determines the operation timing of an auxiliary inflator 8 corresponding to the size of the maximum value based on the predetermined characteristic. When the main inflator 6 is operated by a malfunction before the output (b) of the integrator 3 becomes the threshold value V0, the auxiliary inflator controller 7 outputs no signal for operating the auxiliary inflator 8. |
