CALCIUM ABSORPTION-PROMOTING AGENT AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a calcium absorption-promoting agent exhibiting a high efficiency of absorbing calcium and less smelling. SOLUTION: This calcium absorption-promoting agent is a decomposed material of a gelatin and/or a collagen, has <1,000 molecular weight and contains a peptide containing in an average >=6 mol.% at least 1 kind of acidic amino acid unit selected between asparaginic acid unit and glutamic acid unit based on total amino acid units, as an active ingredient. The method for producing the calcium-absorption accelerating agent comprises an absorbing process of bringing a solution containing the decomposed material of the gelatin and/or the collagen into contact with a hydroxyapatite for absorbing the peptide contained in the decomposed material to the hydroxyapatite, and an eluting process of bringing a peptide desorption liquid into contact with the hydroxyapatite for eluting the peptide.
