PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten the weight of a marking device, to accurately position a marking tool, and to minimize the friction in being used by setting a first linear motor element so as to move a movable member in a first direction and by setting a second linear motor element so as to move a second direction crossing at right angles with the first direction. SOLUTION: A movable member 16 as an armature has four modules 18, 20, 22, 24 functioning as drive means and these modules have coils 18A, 20A, 22A, 24A and magnet cores 18B, 20B, 22B, 24B integrated with these coils. Current characteristics flowing in the coils 18A, 22A are changed so as to move the movable member 16 as a carriage in the first direction shown by an arrow F. The movable member 16 selectively flows current to the coils 20A, 22A so as to move in a second direction shown by an arrow F'. The modules 18, 22 and 20, 24 are constituted of a first and a second linear motor element. This constitution can move the carriage in the first and second directions crossing at right angles with each other. |
