PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing, simply and in a high yield, a fluorinated ether compound which can be used, for example, for solvents, cosmetics, cleaning compositions, emulsifiers, and surface-treating agents. SOLUTION: This method comprises producing an ether compound by reacting a hydroxyl compound with a carbonyl compound in the presence of a catalyst, under the atmosphere of hydrogen, wherein the hydroxyl compound and/or the carbonyl compound are/is fluorinated compound(s), wherein a hydroxyl compound which was purified to remove an alkali component, and/or a nitrogenous component is used. |
