A cable management apparatus is adapted for use with a furniture leg formed by two leg posts 6 separated by a gap. The apparatus includes a legway defined by an elongated substantially tubular body 17. The body includes a pair of clamping arms 27 that are resiliently deflectable. The clamping arms are deflected inwardly when the legway is pushed into the gap between the leg posts, providing a force to clamp the legway in position. The tubular body may also include a central rib 30 terminated in a flange 31. The central rib divides the legway into two channels and the flange cooperates with the clamping arms to define slots 35, 36 which provide a restricted opening through which the cables can be fed. The cable management apparatus may further include a decorative cover plate (46, Fig 13, 14) that is removably mounted on the legway to improve its aesthetics.
